I’m Mark, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with City Counseling. Growing up, I moved frequently between California, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Between constantly being the new kid and coming out at 17, I spent much of my early life figuring out where I belonged. Those experiences shaped my passion for helping others navigate identity, relationships, life transitions, and personal growth.

My own experiences with anxiety, depression, and ADHD have shaped how I understand the counseling process and the courage it takes to seek support. I strive to create a space that feels welcoming, authentic, and free of judgment, where clients can show up as their full selves.
My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in humanistic, mindfulness-based, and narrative therapies. I have a particular passion for working with LGBTQ+ individuals and those exploring their gender and sexual identities, while also supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, grief, caregiving, relationship concerns, and major life transitions.

A meaningful part of my journey included studying abroad in Botswana, where I worked with women affected by HIV/AIDS. That experience deepened my appreciation for resilience and reinforced the importance of approaching each person’s story with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

I’m deeply connected to the natural world and hold a certificate in ecotherapy. I believe our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world around us can be a meaningful part of healing and growth.
Outside the office, I enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking, exploring museums and concerts, photographing Ohio’s landscapes, and spending time with animals. I’m also a big pet lover, so I always welcome photos of your furry companions.
