Annie Tressler, MSW, LSW
Annie is a values-based therapist that prides herself on building lasting relationships, and setting collaborative goals with clients. She has worked closely with young adults, kids, teens, and families, and is passionate about engaging with the LGBTQIA+ community who are working through challenges to grow into who they want to be. Annie utilize humanistic and integrative approaches to equip clients with the education and knowledge to thrive on their own, and believes strongly in holistic therapeutic care to empower clients with autonomy and agency over their progress and wellbeing. Simply put, her intention is to provide a safe and fun space for clients to explore their values and identity, and she aims to walk alongside clients as they build confidence through self-understanding and change.
Annie is a proud queer person who recently moved with her fiance to Ann Arbor, MI from Columbus. They live with their dog, Sammie, and cat, Albert. She loves to explore new food, and you can always catch her planning her next concert, especially anything gay pop or alternative indie. In the past 2 years, she has been learning how to play the bass guitar (a slow and arduous process, but so fun). The Wicked soundtrack is her Spotify most played album, and she has no shame in admitting her love for the movie (feel free to ask more about her take on the therapeutic impact, and overall resiliency displayed in the story). People describe her as someone who is both extremely direct and empathetic, a true capricorn, and she thinks that juxtaposition makes her the therapist that she is. Annie works to embody a holistic approach to her own life to energize and ground her as she navigates the good and the bad. She aims to provide that same grounded and supportive presence to those in her life, and she tries not to take herself too seriously all the time. She loves to laugh and find ways to stay silly, especially with those she cares about. She can also dive into an anime binge (her favorite is Hunter x Hunter) or a show that just makes her laugh to really heal her introverted self.
Ultimately, Annie wants to work to make therapy the space that is right for you, while remaining mindful and solution-focused in her approach. She believes getting to know a little about her is part of that process. If you think Annie could be the right fit for you, let us know!
